What does "Bite the Dust" mean?

Two posts in one day-that is a record for me! After posting about the boys and football, I decided to post about a couple of cute things that Reilly has said lately. She just cracks me up with some of the things she comes up with.

  • The other night before she was going to bed I was playing with her and I hugged her and told her that I loved her to the moon and back. I tell her this all the time but that night she asked me, "Did you miss me while you were at the moon?". How else can you answer that but by saying, "Of course I did"?

  • Another night Mike was telling Reilly that he was going to have to get a new lawnmower because his was about to bite the dust. They were just playing and talking and she didn't mention it again but apparently she was really paying attention. The next morning the first thing she said to me when she woke up was, "What does bite the dust mean?". I told Mike that she must have dreamed about the lawnmower all night since it was the first thought on her mind that morning.

I'll try to remember these sweet moments in the morning when she is pitching a fit about what to wear to school. Who knew that 3 year olds could be so opinionated about fashion?

I have a very opinionated fashionista too! She came out of her room the other day in a striped shirt, striped leggings and striped socks - and black patton shoes - let me add - none of the stripes were the same pattern!
Avery tells me she loves me all the way to China or Russia - whichever seems farthest at the time!
